About Me

From a very young age I knew I wanted to work with children. Thankfully, my mum had heard about The Norland Nursery Training College and so when she knew I was serious about my career she supported and encouraged me to apply.

I was only 15 when I applied to Norland and lucky enough to be accepted, with a place starting just after my 17th birthday.

Over the 3 years that I studied at Norland, I learned a great deal. I also discovered my true path; my heart lay with babies and helping them and their families get more sleep.

After graduating in 1999 with Distinction, I went on to work with families here in the UK and in Australia, as a nanny and a maternity nurse, cementing my love of babies and supporting their parents.

When I returned to Scotland in 2005, I realised that many parents needed a different kind of support than the ones offered by the more traditional nannies and maternity nurses. My company was born, a parenting consultancy which allowed me to educate and support parents in their new roles, without taking over. Giving them the confidence to be happier and more relaxed throughout their parenting journey.

Over the years I have worked with thousands of families around the world to make it the successful business it is today. I offer a range of services, from consultations, to overnight help (in house and remote), supporting all your families needs from sleep to feeding and much more.

Over the last 20 years, as well as developing my services, I have  become a mummy to three wonderful children. I felt a huge amount of pressure to get things right, but like all new parents, I struggled, particularly with my first. My own experiences have really helped me to understand the parenting journey: to empathise, sympathise, cry and laugh with the families I work with. I get it: we all just want to be the best parents we can.

I feel honored to go on the individual journeys with each family, supporting them every step of the way. I am so passionate about what I do, I thrive on helping families and knowing the difference I have made to their lives.

My Approach

After many years of assisting families worldwide, I've been able to pinpoint where I can best use my extensive training and experience. I will work hand in hand with you allowing you to grow in confidence, make informed decisions and receive tailor-made non-judgemental advice to enable you to enjoy your journey as parents.

During your pregnancy, how many times did you hear the words ‘say goodbye to sleep’  - it doesn’t need to be like that. We all know that newborns need to be fed overnight, but with pre birth advice on what to expect, and post birth support putting the right habits in place from day one, you can start on the path to realistic and healthy sleep. Once you are out the other side of what I think of as the newborn phase, but you have now been sleep deprived for 4,5,6 months; 3,4,5; or even 6,7,8 years, I work with you as individuals to establish good habits, routines that work, and through extensive communication can advise on the correct methods that you are comfortable with for your specific issues.  I do not advocate cry it out or controlled crying, but the methods I use come from the prestigious training I received at the world renowned Norland Nursery Training College, and have then continued to develop these gentle, supportive methods through working with thousands of families around the world.

"We can fix this...it's just a phase...we don't need help"

These are some of the phrases you might be saying or thinking right now, but would you be saying this if your boiler had broken down or you needed mortgage advice?! No, you would get help without hesitation, guilt or feeling like you have failed. The reality is that in the UK alone parents seeking sleep help has tripled in the last 10 years. This is not a sign of failing, in fact it is entirely the opposite because through seeking help when you are ready, you are helping not just your baby or child sleep, but your sanity, mental health and even relationships.

My mission is to help and support as many families as possible to allow them a positive and healthy approach to parenthood, with tailor made advice specific to you, your baby and families needs. Enhancing your confidence by imparting my knowledge, allowing you to make informed decisions about your parenting styles.

Lack of sleep is cited as one of the nations biggest health crisis, and there is well documented evidence of the negative impacts on mental and physical health. As a client said recently, the gift of sleep is the best gift you can give.
